Schedule

January 15-18, 2010 ... Killington, VT ... Mountain Inn ... $450
MLK Weekend

Three full days of Snowboarding/Downhill Skiing and XC-Skiing/Snowshoeing

Killington (one of the country's major winter resorts) offers more terrain, more variety, more lifts and more snow than any other area we visit. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will enjoy the trails at nearby Woodstock, Mountain Top and Mountain Meadows. These XC Ski centers offer well groomed trails, excellent lessons and rental equipment and some of the best snow in the area. The Mountain Inn lets us enjoy comfort and convenience, whether you want to explore the resort or relax inside.

Being relatively close to New York means a shorter trip each way, and lodging at the resort means more time to enjoy the snow.

February 12-15, 2010 ... Stowe, VT ... Mountaineer Inn ... $485
Presidents Weekend

Three full days of Snowboarding/Downhill Skiing and XC-Skiing/Snowshoeing

Celebrate the long Holiday Weekend in Stowe. Mt. Mansfield, the highest peak in Vermont, is waiting for Snowboard and Downhill Skiers with an 8-passenger gondola. Beginners and intermediates might prefer Spruce Peak, only minutes away. The cross-country trail systems here are unmatched in this country not only for size, but for beauty. Mt. Mansfield Touring Center offers skiing on classic mountainside trails. The scenic woods and meadows of the Trapp Family Touring Center are also a favorite with us.

The Mountaineer Inn offers an indoor pool, sauna and hot tub, and serves us hardy breakfasts and dinners. A town shuttle is available to give you the freedom to come and go as you please. Saturday night at the Rusty Nail for the night owls of the group.

March 5-7, 2010 ... Lake Placid, NY ... Swiss Acres Lodge ... $345

Two full days of Snowboarding/Downhill Skiing and XC-Skiing/Snowshoeing

Having hosted the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, the Lake Placid area offers world class facilities for a full spectrum of winter sports. Cross-country skiers will tour the Olympic trails of Mount Van Hoevenberg and the more classic trails of Cascade Touring Center. Snowboarders and Downhill Skiers will enjoy Whiteface Mountain which boasts the greatest vertical drop in the east (3,430 ft).

We stay at the Swiss Acres Lodge - a comfortable, convenient inn with all the amenities: hot tub, sauna, bar, game room, lounge and dinning room, where we'll enjoy breakfast and dinner. For the more adventurous, on Saturday night we'll go into town for some fun on the Toboggan Run and explore Main Street.

More Lake Placid info here.
