MLK Weekend

Three full days of Snowboarding/Downhill Skiing and XC-Skiing / Snowshoeing

Killington (one of the country's major winter resorts) offers more terrain, more variety, more lifts and more snow than any other area we visit. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will enjoy the trails at nearby Woodstock, Mountain Top and Mountain Meadows. These XC Ski centers offer well groomed trails, excellent lessons and rental equipment and some of the best snow in the area. The Mountain Inn lets us enjoy comfort and convenience, whether you want to explore the resort or relax inside.

Being relatively close to New York means a shorter trip each way, and lodging at the resort means more time to enjoy the snow.

Presidents Weekend

Three full days of Snowboarding / Downhill Skiing and XC-Skiing / Snowshoeing

Celebrate the long Holiday Weekend in Stowe. Mt. Mansfield, the highest peak in Vermont, is waiting for Snowboarders and Downhill Skiers with an 8-passenger gondola. Beginners and intermediates might prefer Spruce Peak, only minutes away. The cross-country trail systems here are unmatched in this country not only for size, but for beauty. Mt. Mansfield Touring Center offers skiing on classic mountainside trails. The scenic woods and meadows of the Trapp Family Touring Center are also a favorite with us.

The Commodores Inn offers an indoor pool, sauna and hot tub, and serves us hearty breakfasts and dinners. A town shuttle is available to give you the freedom to come and go as you please. The night owls can visit the Rusty Nail for some local night life.

March 2-4, 2012 ... Stratton Mountain, VT … the Inn at Stratton Mountain ... $400

Two full days of Snowboarding / Downhill Skiing and XC-Skiing / Snowshoeing - Includes Lift Tickets!

Stratton Mountain is known for its excellent grooming and snowmaking, so they are likely to have powder and corduroy while other places are crusty. And if you aren't into lift-served snow sports they have a variety of other activities for you to enjoy on the snow or off. Stratton's slopeside village is lined with an eclectic mix of shops and eateries that will entice you to take a break from the snow. A 2-day lift ticket (or access to the resort's other activities) IS included in the cost of this trip.

Each morning we awake to a satisfying breakfast at our Inn at Stratton Mountain, a modern Hotel just a short walk (or shuttle ride) from Stratton Village. This convenient location puts you minutes away from the lifts at the Main Base in the Village or Sun Bowl Base. Dinner on Saturday (NOT included in the price of this trip) can be enjoyed in the Hotel or, along with other evening entertainment, the village has a number of pubs and restaurants.
